Our former six-day Pediatric Equinus Deformity Conservative Management course has transitioned from an entirely in-person format to a hybrid model, combining the convenience of online learning with the hands-on benefits of in-person training. The online course Pediatric Equinus Deformity Conservative Management - Part 1 is the pre-requisite required for attending the in-person Serial Casting Lab.

Our lab session evaluations indicated that students need more time devoted to cast fabrication, so we have modified the program accordingly. We are sure that this new lab will raise your confidence in your new casting skills.

Three Days, Six Colleagues, World-Class Instruction

Lab Enrollment—Days 1 and 2: Limited to six didactic course alumni who passed all the exams and who are prepared to use the new assessment and orthotic modification skills in practice. With that consideration, labs will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and feature supervised trials of ankle and foot assessment procedures with findings applied to modifications of an insole or orthosis undertaken to optimize foot alignment. 

Lab Enrollment—Day 3: Limited to six lab course participants who are prepared to use the new cast fabrication and posting skills in practice. With that consideration, this lab will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Orthotic optimization principles and methods will be implemented in the fabrication and biomechanical optimization of a below-knee cast that is made to be removed without a motorized cutter.

Special Note: Casts are made to be removed without a motorized cutter, even when reinforced with fiberglass cast tape.

In general, if you have registered for an in-person course but can't attend, we encourage you to find a colleague to take your place. (If you cancel 45+ days in advance, and we can find a replacement, we'll refund you 95% of your registration costs.)

If we have to cancel an in-person course, all registration and housing fees will be refunded.

Meet Your Instructor

Billi Cusick

Billi Cusick, PT, MS, NDT, COF/BOC, is an internationally known pediatric physical therapist whose specialty is the orthopedic development and orthotic management of children with cerebral palsy and other neuromotor deficits. 

She has been teaching these and related topics since 1978, including presentations by invitation for the APTA, AACPDM, AOPA, and AAOP and more than 460 full programs and workshops worldwide.

Billi received her BS in PT from Bouve College at Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1972, and her MS in Clinical and College Teaching for Allied Health Professionals from the University of Kentucky in Lexington in 1988. She is an Associate Professor for the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions – Pediatrics Program – Provo, Utah (2006-present) and is NDT basic- and baby-trained.
